Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie

This recipe is from my great grandma, Olga Pachis.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can pumpkin
  • 1 cup homogenized milk (as it was called in her recipe; is there any other kind now days?)
  • 1 cup canned milk (Carnation)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ tt salt
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup soft butter

Instructions
 

  • Mix all together until well blended, and pour into pie crusts (makes two pies).
  • Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, then turn down to 350° and bake until done. Pie is done when knife comes out clean when inserted.If crust starts getting too brown cover with foil.
